Day Trip: Heathcote Wineries

Coffee Stand outside the Arts Centre, St Kilda Road, Melbourne

Enjoy an incredible full Day Heathcote Wine Tour on one of our exclusive popular winery tours.

We have planned another wine tour after the last wine trips sold out and members asked us to organise another wine tour, also we have recently enjoyed a successful cheese and wine night in the CBD, so time to enjoy another wine tour.

Spend a day enjoying some great Heathcote wineries on our exclusive wine trip. We will be visiting three wineries in the area enjoy lunch at the rustic Toorborac Hotel.

Heathcote is a region well known its world class Shiraz but it is also capable of creating excellent wines with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Riesling and Viognier.

Our first stop is Condie Estate winery whose wines are handmade in the traditional way, hand pruned vines, handpicked fruit, gently mechanically destemmed, open fermented, hand plunged, basket pressed, matured in a range of old and new French and American oak, some are even hand bottled. The cellar door overlooks the picturesque Wild Duck Creek Estate.

The Tooborac Hotel & Brewery is a two-storey bluestone building that is one of the most best looking country pubs in Victoria, infused with country charm. There is a great selection of pub grub as well as their famous rabbit pie and Sunday lunches.

The venue is the oldest National Trust listed country pub in Victoria and renowned for being family friendly with a warm and inviting atmosphere as well as some great craft beers to try as well.

After lunch, we will visit Heathcote winery that produced its first vintage in 1981 and now specialises in the production of Shiraz and Viognier reflective of the Heathcote Region but distinctly Heathcote Winery. Shiraz is the cornerstone of Heathcote Winery’s premium wine production, including the highly acclaimed Mail Coach Shiraz and the Single vineyard Slaughterhouse Paddock Shiraz.

Our final winery is Vinea Marson that has tastings in true Italian style around a family table and is the winner of Gourmet Traveller Wine Best Cellar Door Awards. This is one of most recommended wineries in the Heathcote region and we are looking forward to our visit.

The price includes wine tastings and return transport with lunch at own expense. There is a slight increase in the price of this tour as most Heathcote wineries only allow small bookings, so tasting fees are higher and extra distance involved.

Meet Ian and Nicole at 9.15 at the coffee stand outside the Arts Centre, enjoy a coffee before we leave at 9.40am.
