Melbourne Social Cycling: St Kilda to Williamstown (or Altona)

Start of St Kilda Pier, St Kilda

Enjoy the great coastal views in this relaxed cycle ride on one of our favourite day rides using the bicycle punt to cross the Yarra. This ride is part of our monthly cycle ride on the last Saturday of each month.

The ride will be on bike trails along the esplanade from St Kilda up to Port Melbourne and up to the Westgate Bridge. The bicycle punt will be used to cross the Yarra at Fishermans Bend. The bike path will continue after the punt into Williamstown and follow the coast around to Altona. A lunch venue will be decided on the day at Williamstown, lunch at own expense. Or alternatively at Altona.

The route is approximately 50 kms to Altona return, so a reasonable level of fitness would be required. Return is via the same bike path. This ride is a replacement for our usual monthly Capital City bike ride.

Please also ensure you bike is in good working order before you start the ride.

Price of $10 shown is for the return trip on the bicycle punt at the Westgate Bridge ($5 each way using credit or debit card). We expect to stop for a coffee/drink on the way back at South Melbourne or St Kilda.

Trivia Night in Melbourne CBD

Sherlock Holmes, 415 Collins Street, Melbourne CBD

Join us for a trivia night at the Sherlock Holmes on Collins Street which is a British styled pub located on Collins Street.

The trivia night is hosted by comedian Janet McLeod and offers winners $50 food & drink vouchers as well as quiz rounds for Jugs of Beer, Bottles of wine etc. Janet is a well-respected comedian and has a way of getting you involved in the night.

The Sherlock Holmes opened in 1985 and the hostelry has been extremely well received, as have its comestibles, ales wines and spirits. So much so that the worst criticism has been that the establishment is too small for the large numbers of discerning citizens who wish to avail themselves of the sundry attractions which this unique tavern affords.

Here is a home for the aficionados of the works of the eneffable Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, where the friendly shades of Dr Watson, Professor Moriarty (a changed man since he went over the falls) and the Stradivarius-playing, opium-smoking genius himself, the Great Detective, await your pleasure.

So meet Nicole at the reserved table for a fun trivia night.
